As Of September 6th 2024: We are currently not taking new clients due to high volume. We will be re-evaluating January 1st, 2025. Look for updates at that time.

I grew up on a farm in Enfield and have always had a strong connection with animals, as a child they were some of my best friends. My most memorable childhood dog was Annie. She was a Lhassa Apso/Toy Poodle mix we got when I was 7 years old. As I grew up she was always a constant in my life, living with my parents while I was in college and then with me after I graduated. I built my current home in 1995 and brought Annie to live with me for the final chapter of her life. I did have to make the very heartbreaking decision to have her put to sleep when she was 18 years old in 1996. She was a true blessing and comfort to me, I still dream about her often, all are of her still being with me and always reliving the wonderful bond I had with her.

WHO WE ARE...

We love Dogs!

My husband Randy and I have had the honor of providing a forever home to nine dogs and five cats in the last 16 years. Some of them had special needs that were challenging including seperation anxiety, aggression and senior care. All are loved immensely and no challenge has been too great to overcome. We always consider all of our pets needs when bringing a new rescue home. Our dogs and cats all coexist nicely. They are all so wonderful and have adapted well to each other.
Realizing we had such an excellent environment for dogs, we left our conventional jobs in 2022 to start our business. I have been a Registered Nurse for 30 years and needed a break and this was the perfect option for us.
Our home is on 8 acres of land 1/4 mile off the main road, with a fenced in area right off the house, and a walk out basement with a dog door. The fenced in area is covered with pea stone, it makes poop cleanup easier and keeps less dirt from tracking into the house. We have waterproof, pet friendly flooring which is a huge help in keeping the house clean, not an easy task. All are allowed on the furniture and sleep in our bedroom at night. We do have various gates we use to seperate dogs as needed due to temperment. Dogs are only crated at the parents request.

WHAT WE DO

Remember to book Early!

We feel the intelligence of dogs is fostered in an environoment where they can be independent with our guidance, promoting adaptability with loving care.

The atmosphere we provide allows socialization in a happy space where we let the dogs interact throughout the day with each other with close monitoring by us. Your dog will come home content, happy and tired. We offer our services from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week with the option of full day or half day of daycare. Randy and I have helped many families and their dogs during unexpected times of need including family emergencies, home repairs and demanding work schedules. We are here for you and your beloved dog.

We have been going to Ellington Center Animal Clinic for 22 years, receiving the best veterinary care possible.
